Welcome to another issue of InnerSelf Thriving. Where we normalize the in-between, share tools for navigating spiritual transitions with grace, and celebrate seekers like you who keep going even when the path goes dark! 🌒🌿

Know someone who feels stuck but suspects something bigger is actually moving? Forward this email to them!

In today's issue:

  • Why feeling lost at a high level of consciousness is not regression, it's initiation

  • The distinction between being stuck and being in transition that changes everything

  • How to work with the space between identities instead of rushing out of it

The Most Disorienting Place on the Spiritual Path Is Also the Most Important

Nobody warns you about the plateau that doesn't feel like a plateau.

You have done the work. Real work, not the Instagram version. You have sat with your shadows. You have released what needed releasing. You have changed.

And yet, here you are, feeling like nothing is moving. Like the identity you shed doesn't quite fit anymore, but the new one hasn't fully arrived. Like you are standing in a doorway, and both rooms are dark.

This is not stagnation. This is the most active phase of spiritual growth. It just doesn't look like progress because it doesn't feel like progress.

📖 The Story

The silence before the shift

In Along Came Beyond, some of the most significant turning points are not the dramatic ones. They are the still ones. The long Wednesday afternoons where nothing seems to be happening, and then, weeks later, you realize that everything was happening.

I went through a period in my own journey that I privately called "the gray." My old frameworks had dissolved. The frameworks I was moving toward hadn't solidified yet. I was functioning. I was present. But I felt strangely absent from my own life.

What I didn't know then was that the gray is not emptiness. It is gestation.

The energetic work I was doing with Earth Energetics during that time wasn't producing visible results yet. But it was clearing the field. It was removing what needed to be removed before what was coming could land. The space that felt vacant was actually being prepared.

⚙️ Tactical Application

How to navigate the in-between without collapsing it prematurely

Step 1: Name it accurately.

Stop calling it stuck. Call it transitional. The word you use shapes the energy you bring to it. Stuck implies nothing is moving. Transitional implies something is.

Step 2: Reduce the pressure to perform in order to grow.

The in-between cannot be performed. Any attempt to rush it, to manufacture visible signs of progress, compresses the space it needs to do its work. Your job here is less action and more receptivity.

Step 3: Keep the energetic field clear.

Transitions are energetically demanding. Old patterns, cleared but not yet fully released, tend to resurface during in-between periods. This is normal. It is not regression. Regular energetic support, whether through meditation, time in nature, or treatments available at earthenergetics.org, helps maintain clarity in the field as the transition completes.

Step 4: Trust the sequence, not the timeline.

Spiritual growth does not move on a schedule. It moves in sequences. The step you are on is necessary. You cannot skip it. But you can move through it more cleanly when you stop fighting the pace.

🔭 Intelligent Elevation

What the in-between is actually for

Every major identity shift requires a dissolution phase. The caterpillar does not become a butterfly by improving. It becomes one by dissolving entirely within the chrysalis, losing its previous form before the new one can emerge.

The human equivalent of the chrysalis is the in-between.

Consciousness evolution doesn't always announce itself with insight and expansion. Sometimes it announces itself with disorientation and a strange kind of quiet. That quiet is not the absence of growth. It is the frequency of deep reorganization.

The cultures that understood this built rituals around it. Initiations. Rites of passage. Liminal spaces that were held, not rushed.

We don't have many of those structures anymore. But the process still happens. And it still requires the same thing it always has: someone to hold the space while you move through it.

💬 Closing Insight

You are not behind the version of yourself you thought you'd be by now.

You are between the version you were and the one that is being built in the dark.

Stay in the doorway a little longer. Both rooms are about to get light.

🔁 Repeatable Wisdom

"The in-between is not a pause in your growth. It is where your growth does its most private work."

Reply with where you are right now. In the light, in the gray, or somewhere in between. 💬
